Upside-down freshness

By Heidi Olivier, Project Consultant Candice Jin, Property Coordinator Charnay Shabe, Photographer Bronwyn Alyson

This home was built to meet the home owners’ living and entertainment needs. “Our home is aesthetically pleasing, reflecting our taste and style. The expansive view makes you forget that you live in a city and brings you closer to nature. It could easily be mistaken for a game farm,” says the home owner.

The architectural style of the home is unique in that it is built “upside-down”, and the owners enjoy the fact that it is uncluttered and minimalist. Cladding along the entrance and passage, along with the ample use of wood throughout, gives the home a quaint, bushveld-lodge aura.

The furniture in the lounge is simple, elegant and comfortable, appointed in natural tones; it’s a space made more intimate by the addition of a glass-top coffee table.
