Villa of hope

The owners say that the entire design of their home centred on maximising the magnificent views overlooking Gordon’s Bay from as many vantage points as possible.

As a result, they say, although several areas in the house are favoured at different times of the day, their absolute favourite living space has become the outdoor lounge around the swimming pool.

A rich colour palette of Saharan tones applied on exterior and interior walls replicates desert sunsets during the day, and is transformed into a beautiful display of brilliant light reflections at night.

Masterfully crafted surfaces and textures complement design elements such as the skylight between the first and second levels, through which exclusive kitchen surfaces and Moroccan Berber rugs are highlighted. Majestic window and door enclosures stand proud as original designs for which custom-made frames were manufactured. The skilled craftsmanship exhibited in intricate iron and steel applications, puts a stamp of authenticity on the overall character.

Each bathroom portrays individual character with mirrors, lamps, vanities, surfaces and warm colour schemes that harmonise with the overall ambience. The outdoor shower and spa bath, in particular, create an inviting space.

Like the elaborate decor in all the living areas, the bedrooms display finely carved timber furniture enhanced by window and bed coverings in sumptuous quantities of quality fabrics.

For these lucky owners, living “in style” reflects a graceful appreciation of culture, history and beauty.
