We have moved into a home that has wall coverings that are dated. I would really like to update the look but in an easy manner. Should I paint or dye the wallpaper to get rid of the print or will it be more practical to remove the current paper and recover the wall? Also what type of print would suit a contemporary home?

Theresa van Wyk – Smart Art: Removing the wall paper is an easy process. Firstly, wash the wall with lukewarm water and let it rest for approximately 30 minutes. You will see that during the rest time, the paper will start peeling off. Scrape the rest of the wallpaper off and wipe down the remaining residue with a solution of soapy water. In terms of trends, these days you can have just about anything on your wall including your very own picture or design. The current trends though do lean towards folk style, big blooms, natural materials, retro/vintage and country house glamour.
