Wild At Heart Florist

Written by Jess Binns

At this time of year, I hanker after the crisp coldness that December brings to the UK. I’m finding it hard getting into the Christmas frame of mind, while I wonder round in my shorts and slops!

A large part of the festivities has to be all the Christmas wintry foliage and flowers that adorn front doors, table settings and mantelpieces. I love to make a big fuss when it comes to bringing greenery indoors, and one of my main sources of inspiration is Nikki Tibbles from the popular Wild At Heart florists based in the very heart of London.

Nikki started life in advertising and although being extremely successful, there was always a yearning for something more creative. This is where the interest of floristry took hold, and I for one am so glad it did.

“Honestly, I can’t write, sing, paint or draw – and flowers to me are such a painterly medium, it seemed like the perfect way to express my creativity. I’ve always loved art and am filled with the burning ambition to create something beautiful. Every time I enter the flower market I’m confronted by a new palette – it’s so freeing to be able to make new creations every day. I love that about flowers, there’s always an element of chance and surprise, and no two days are ever the same!”

I’m not exaggerating when I say that walking into one of Nikki’s stores fills you with complete happiness and inspiration, not to mention the glorious variety of scents that fill the air. If you have ever lived or visited London, you’ll know of Wild at Heart as the florist based at the doors to the Liberty’s store. A true feast for the eyes, the originality of bouquets stands Nikki apart from the masses. This is also validated by the long list of celebrities that have had VIP parties, weddings and corporate events dressed by the Wild At Heart team.

While dressing the tree, the walls and table, I shall be taking all my pointers from Wild At Heart. Perhaps this will be the ignition I need to finally revel in the festive mood!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

Best wishes, Jess from Hector and Bailey
