Dear ED!
I am a LOYAL reader and the SA Home Owner is like one of the the apostles in the Bible, for for me, my freelance livingspace design consulting business and just lovely read in the evening with a nice glass of wine… BUT how unfair is this – because I’m Namibian, I can’t get to enter your competitions? The rules are alwayes “open to SA residents only” OR one can never successfuly get an SMS through on the Competition lines… Please investigate? You have MANY loyal readers in Namibia (and I suppose other spots outside SA) too?!
Regards,
R.
May 3, 2011
Thanks for your comment Rolf. I have forwarded your request to our team. Warm regards.

I have no lounge suite. Just moved into a small new apartment (my first home) and its got a few scrappy chairs donated kindly from my family. (I am grateful for everything).
I dont have any TV channels anymore either, as I cant afford the things others take for granted, so I can turn my attention to my home.
Kind regards
Jason
August 15, 2012
What a trendy little set. As I have aged, so has my furniture, and with what little money one gets these days as a pension, these things are out of reach, but the magazine is always right there. Affordable once a month when I go shopping. It gives me ideas for doing up small spaces with D.I.Y.
Our last child has recently moved out of the house, and my husband claimed it as his “man cave” very quickly. So we are doing it up for him, and a little suite there would do magic.
Best wishes
Jedanna

I am content with a bath every day until I can renovate my bathroom and put a shower in which is a longtime dream of mine!!
September 2, 2012
One of the greatest pleasures in life is standing under a hot shower at the end of a stressful day. The water has this magical effect of just washing away everything that has been sitting on my head all day. Down the drain and gone. It makes for an excellent night’s sleep without all that baggage. At the back of mind I always worry about using so much water simply for pleasure. An Eco-option would prolong my delicious indulgence.

I prefer to bath after a long & hard day. I throw in some relaxing bath salts & light some scented candles. I then hop into the bath with my 8 year old daughter who always has the knack of adding a little too much bubble bath! We use this precious time to bond & to share stories about our day. If I am feeling a little adventurous I invite my man who has to come with a bottle of bubbly of course! I believe that a relaxed body leads to a relaxed mind & living in these hectic times, every single bit of relaxation is welcomed!

September 3, 2012
Shower. Saves electricity. I am waterwise:)
September 3, 2012
A shower after a long day at work rejuvenates body and soul, leaves you feeling clean and fresh, no splashing around in dirty bath water, yek!
September 3, 2012
Yes, a shower, to feel fresh and revigourated at home.
September 3, 2012
It is always a shower. This is to save both water and elctricity, over and above the soothing feeling of the splash of water on my tired body!
September 3, 2012
I bath and I shower, the bath is a luxury on weekends to scrub the feet and generally be a spoilt lady, the shower is and everyday necessity, quick inexpensive (comparatively) and very refreshing.

September 3, 2012
I have 3 kids so bathing is definately a luxury. I enjoy a relaxing bath after a long day but only once the kids are asleep otherwise they will plague me or sometimes my daughter will want to jump in with me, which i dont mind from time to time but not all the time. The rest of the time i shower. so in a month i would probably bath about twice but when i do i make the most of it. real pamper time for sure.
September 3, 2012
Mornings after a ruthless gym session at 5, i head for the shower where i can turn on the cold water after a good warm shower to get the blood pumping even more.
Evenings are my relax times after a hard day at the office and doing household chores. Once this is done i head for the bathroom with my favourite magazine, slide down into warm bubbly water and indulge in the most gorgeous pages of the SA Home Owner and sometimes imagine that i am in one of those picture perfect bathrooms, doing this makes me stay longer in the bath than i planned to!! stunning magazine, always very interesting.
September 3, 2012
Love to take a long bath after a hard day of work as it helps to relax my mind!
September 3, 2012
Bath in winter (to defrost)
Shower in summer (refresh)
September 3, 2012
My word can anything beat a shower? Wash the concrete jungle off. Wash wearisome colleagues off. Wash the office canteen off. Wash the professional stiff upper lip off. And step out invigorated, revived, daisy-fresh and squeaky clean! NOTHING beats a shower!
September 3, 2012
I love to shower, you save water and after a long day if the water runs all over your body I relax and enjoy the running water
September 3, 2012
Love to bath ! What a relaxing way to end off a busy day !
September 3, 2012
I like to jump in the shower and wash the day away! Baths are reserved for those “soak away the troubles” days.
September 3, 2012
I’m a big fan of an end-of-day shower. It’s one of life’s little pleasures to be able to savour the feeling of hot water running over your body.
September 3, 2012
I always have to shower, not only for the easyness of washing my hair but because I can stand up and not get an achy neck!
Yes unfortunately baths give me an achy neck from lying in it so long and I have a really bad phobia of wrinkly fingers. You know when you have been in the bath to long, I cannot handle wrinkly fingers and the thought of rubbing them together 🙁 So a shower for me always…
September 3, 2012
I love my shower at the end of the day although every once in a while i do enjoy a nice long bath!
September 3, 2012
A shower as its refreshes me after a hard days work and also to save water…
September 3, 2012
I love showering during the week as it provides a quick refreshing way to start the day, however, on weekends I prefer to languish in a lovely bath filled with bath oil, to soften my skin. I put some soft music on and dim the lights in the bathroom….. there I lie and just soak up the hot water, relaxing and letting go of every stressful thought, emotion etc. This is my time for a long decent meditation. Oh how i love bathing on weekends!
September 3, 2012
I take a shower, it saves water and feel cleaner than when I taking a bath.
September 3, 2012
I have a long soak after a hard day!,I Run a lovely bubble bath add some oils & relax & let the days tension dissolve away! Unfortunately i also have to bath when I’m in a hurry as my home does not have a shower, but if i were lucky enough to win i could solve that problem & have both Lol
September 3, 2012
Bath …. Because I don’t have a shower, although I would love one – for the speed and water-saving aspect … especially in our normally drought-ridden Eastern Cape!
September 3, 2012
I always bath after a long day at work because it relaxes me 😀
September 3, 2012
ANSWER TO BATH OR SHOWER:
I bath in winter as I can’t seem to get warm if I shower.
I again only shower in Summer
September 3, 2012
Hi
As a household, we try to establish a culture of being green, living healthier and saving water amongst many other goals. Although bathing might be a great stress reliever, it is by far the less efficient use of our water resources compared to showering. That being said, although on most occasions true, it really does depend on your showerhead that you are utilising and whether it has a water flow restrictor operational. How long one showers for also plays a major factor and is probably an area that requires a lot of improvement due to our current habitual nature. It is important to educate your family about water saving techniques at an early age, in doing so, instilling a culture of awareness. Our daily habits do not allow us to understand the extent of what we are actually doing. Showering has cut our water and energy consumption and this has shown favourably on our monthly water and electricity bills. However, in conducting a shower timing test, I was startled by my findings. On average, we spent more or less 10 minutes taking a shower, which is equivalent to almost 65 litres of water. It seems as if the shower is a time capsule where time stands still. A possible solution to this and a challenge laid before GROHE would be to design a shower head accompanied with a clock timer indicating time elapsed or even allowing one to input a desired shower time, for example selecting 4 minutes in which to complete ones shower. Although such technological advances and showering solutions would attract a premium, it would surely go a long way in water saving.

Always a bath with foam and essential oils to soak away the stresses of the day…
September 3, 2012
After a long day at work? All my days are long! But if I had to bath instead of shower, I would be a permanent prune, poor and a hazard to a water-wise environment. I’ll have a bath once in a blue-moon; apparently the next one is July 2015!
September 3, 2012
quite simply an awesome prize…hope to win it!!!
September 3, 2012
Shower, its quick and very soothing!
September 3, 2012
Definitely a shower! having the perfect shower head, that allows the water to pour down in just the right amount is HEAVEN allowing you to not only to relax, clean and come out feeling like you’ve just showered under a waterfall, not much cleaning has to happen immediately like when having a bath… 🙂
September 3, 2012
Definitely a shower! Not only is it more environmentally friendly and hygenic, the constant flow of hot water over my body is more relaxing. In a shower, my whole body stays warm instead of only the half submerged below the water in a bath… I dig a shower.
September 3, 2012
Nothing takes the edge of like a nice, long bubble bath. Add a glass of wine and all worries are forgotten!
September 3, 2012

September 3, 2012
well I live in a house that is 50 years old. in fact its the same house I grew up in. It has the pokiest bathroom youve ever seen. No place for a shower so unfortunately it is a bath every night. As much as it needs a makeover there just never seems to be the time or finances to tackle the job.
September 3, 2012
I must confess…I use both! In winter nothing better than a hot bath to unwind and warm up! In summer I love to shower….with the intense heat it is so lovely to stand under the shower and at the same time wash my hair..so here is a thumbs up to both

September 3, 2012
When I come home and get into the shower, I leave all the stresses of the day behind, letting them drain away with the steaming water. Between my 3 children and work, it is the only me-time I get every day so my shower is my little haven.

September 4, 2012
A long very hot shower before bed after a busy day is the best thing in the world! However, the occasional soak in the tub can be just as relaxing. Nothing warms you like a hot bath!

Mornings are for showering, nice and energizing to get ready for a day. But after a long day at work I love having a long warm bath to soak all the worries of my day away…
September 4, 2012
I actually prefer showering-as you wash yourself in your own dirt if you bath. When I shower; the hard days’ work dirt runs straight down my body into the drain, with your body constantly renewed with fresh warm water leaving the shower head and when those drops land on my skin it feels like I’m being massaged as well. Whether taking a long or short shower, the result is always the same – REFRESHED and ready to take on the town or straight into bed. 😉

Shower of course, saves more water!

After a long tiring day I like to take a long hot bath, because there is no feeling simultaneously as revitalising and relaxing as the feeling of steaming hot water, the smooth cold ceramic surface of a luxurious Grohe bathtub and the aroma of exotic bath oils.
September 6, 2012
Shower if it’s summer(cool and invigorating) and bath if it’s winter (warm and relaxing)!
September 6, 2012
In fact your creative writing skill has inspired me to start my own blog now. Really blogging is spreading its wings rapidly. Your write up is a good example of it. Regards- //www.camphoroilexporters.com/

September 7, 2012

September 7, 2012
Why did I choose anonymous as my name? Well it’s just so much more effective and indulging like a nice warm bath after a long day at work! But when there is pushed for time, I shower! Nothing is as refreshing as a shower on a warm summers-day.
Luxury + Foam = GROHE
September 7, 2012
SHOWER. Life is too short to waste on a long bath.
September 7, 2012
Definitely a SHOWER!
It’s just so refreshing after a long day, especially if you get in, shower in hot hot water and then as it nears the end, you make the water colder, so when you get out, you don’t sweat! You just feel refreshed and ready for anything!
September 7, 2012
I DONT HAVE A BATH TUB SO I ENJOY MY SHOWERS,NOT THAT I’M COMPLAINING.I ONCE READ THAT COLD SHOWERS CAN ACTUALLY STIMULATE YOUR IMMUNE DEFENCES AND PROTECT YOU AGAINST COLD AND FLU.THE COLDNESS HELPS RELEASE TOXINS FROM YOU BODY TISSUE,STIMULATES YOUR CIRCULATION AND CLEANSES THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM SENDING OXYGEN TO YOUR ORGANS AND BLOOD -SO VIVA THE SHOWER…
September 7, 2012
I shower because bathing wastes too much water
September 7, 2012

September 7, 2012
A warm shower is a blessing after a long day’s standing and teaching.
September 8, 2012
I would love to take a hot steamy bath but since I’ve bought a house the bathroom is an embarrassment state,so for now its a quick shower.

Feel the warm water soothing your skin,
Every part of you so relaxed
Like happiness is spreading
From your toes to your head.
Stretching and smiling
For a moment
My worries
Desert
Me.
September 11, 2012
I take a hot bath. After a long day at the office, feeling tense and worn out is common to me because I dont spend alot of my time relaxing. Without taking time of myself, the stress gradually builds-up so taking hot bath after work helps me to unwind.
September 11, 2012
After having to change diapers, clean messes and run after my three precious kids; I enjoy a soothing hot bath. Mothering is a full-time job so I think I deserve a little “me-time”, once the kiddies are sleeping soundly ofcourse…
September 12, 2012
And the winner is… A BATH…There is nothing better than getting home, kicking off my shoes and clothes, running the bath with hot steamy water, bubbles foaming in the bath. Some lovely scented oils, candles lit and my i-pod in my ears. relaxing, feeling the day slide off my shoulders… I can not imagine doing the same in a shower 😉 After my long relaxing bath and where my fingers and toes are looking like prunes. The water runs out into a bucket for watering my garden. Quite clever idea right. But oh how I wish I could indulge in a bath every night, so I save the bath for ‘special’ occasions or after a REALLY hard day at the office.
September 12, 2012
After a long stressful day there’s nothing better than a hot shower. I’d give anything to be one of this lucky ladies in those shampoo adverts, showering under a waterfall with natures sound surround lol Imagine a hit shower after a winters day and post shower snuggling in my fluffy gown, sitting on the couch, listening to some Coldplay…bliss.
September 12, 2012
Yes I shower in the evenings. It refreshes me and gives me some “me”time to reflect on the day just gone.
September 12, 2012
I love to bath, it’s much more relaxing and get some me time in the tub. Keeps me calm and relaxes my muscles after a long day – Love it!!!!!
September 12, 2012
During the week it’s usually a shower, but on Friday nights, it’s some Barry White or Marvin Gaye with melted chocolate and strawberries, with the Mrs and I in a hot relaxing tub 🙂
September 12, 2012
My entire family love to shower in the summer and laze in a hot bath in the winter. Being a mom, I value the quality “ME” time I get in the bathroom once a day. There is something to be said about standing under a strong burst of fresh, hot water in the shower, where the only sound I can hear is the water gushing down on me and not my 2 year old screaming in my ear or my 9 year old whining about how much homework she has. Further to that, on a cold winter’s night my ultimate luxury treat is lathering in a steamy hot bath with gentle lighting, a good book and some aromatic incense and bath salts not forgetting to lock the door tightly. 😉
I consider this my ultimate indulgence.
September 12, 2012
Definitely bath, nothing beats washing away the stress of a long stressful day at the office in a relaxing bubble bath till the water gets lukewarm…
September 12, 2012

September 12, 2012
We usually take a shower, but every now and then and depending on the day, a bath is the answer
September 12, 2012
I bath. A long, hot bath is one of the ultimate luxuries. A little bit of bubble bath here and some music playing in the background. It’s the perfect end to any day!
September 12, 2012

September 14, 2012
A long bath workes for me!
September 14, 2012
Shower, invigorating and saves water.
September 14, 2012
After a long summer’s day I turn his head to face me. It automatically stands to attention. I go back a few steps, undress, and then move closer to him again. My hands start taking control and that is when I start feeling the heat. Every sensation is enhanced. We are close to boiling point. Then as we reach our climax, while placing my hand again on his control, I ecstatically scream, moan and turn down the Grohe shower mixer feeling refreshed, invigorated and ready for evening cocktails
September 14, 2012
a shower just washes all your problems and stress away… leaves you feeling very refreshed

September 17, 2012
Shower – refreshing!
September 17, 2012
I shower because I don’t wash my face and bum in the same water. 🙂
September 17, 2012
I take a bath because there is nothing refreshs like a long hot bath after long hours in the office. As a woman you need that to be able to face the challenges with the children and homeworks in the evening and of course the hubbby they all need your full attention.
September 17, 2012

September 17, 2012
I love to bath……
September 17, 2012
I love to take a long, hot bubble bath.
Its such a nice way to relax and turn off life for a while, and just zone out. Its a few minutes in the day when I forget about work stress for a while. To melt away a long aggravating week, nothing beats a relaxing bubble bath.
The hot water is also soothing if I have muscle soreness or aches. If I have time, I Light Some aromatherapy candles and place them around the bath. They are great for relaxation. lavender and chamomile-scented are my favourite.
Bath Salts Are a Necessity! The natural ingredients they are made from mimic that of hot springs. My very own spa experience in the comfort of my own home. Bliss!
September 17, 2012
A bath is one of my great luxuries.
To be in hot water – preferably sporting some bubbles-with a cool breeze on my face,is pleasant and refreshing.
September 17, 2012
I take a long bath becaus i dont have a shower, would loveto have it.

September 17, 2012
I love to stand under a strong stream of water and wash the days cares away – cleanses like spring rain and washes the dirt away too, so its a shower for me – and its eco-friendly too!
September 17, 2012
Bath or shower after work? I prefer to bath…more relaxing!
September 17, 2012
Definitely a bath! with a good book and a better whiskey!
September 17, 2012
I would always prefer soaking in a tub, but after work a quick shower seems to be the order of the day – suppose because there is so much still to be done and weekends prove to allow a bit more tub relaxation opportunities.
September 17, 2012
A shower is refreshing
A bath is relaxing
A shower economical
A bath is indulging
Like most women, a lot depends on my mood but I mostly shower because its quicker.
September 17, 2012
I would LOVE a bath once in a while to unwind, but unfortunately I only have a shower 🙁 So I shower, but at least it’s helping the environment 😉
September 17, 2012
I have a hot, quick shower because it perks me up and gives me that extra burst of energy to get through the evening. I rarely have a bath because I like to conserve water!
September 17, 2012
“I Shower, because it saves H2O, time, energy and is Global Friendly!”
September 17, 2012
At the close of the day a long warm soak in a bath will rejuvenate my body and mind and soothe the senses
September 17, 2012
Shower. Its quick and refreshing and within a few minutes, the first sip/gulp of wine or beer is on its way.
September 17, 2012
I love to bath…soak in my lavenda scented bath salts, the feel of the water against my skin makes me feel like a godess yet i am @ such a calm that i am humbled!!!At sometime we all should feel like royality!!!
September 17, 2012
Definately a bath to help with sleeping plus I get to add my favourite bath salts foam!
September 17, 2012
sometimes i bath, sometimes i shower.i love to soak in the bath,it really does relieve stress but sometimes can add to it lol.with two small kids running around, theres also no time. cant leave them unsupervised plus they will be constantly knocking on my door anyway…the joys of motherhood, have to sacrifice.ps. depends how you take a bath or shower but mostly i know that showers waste more water.
September 18, 2012
Baths are fabulous, but just the thought of the grime and dirt floating around in the tub sometimes worries me.
Watching the dirt flow away while you shower, the sting of the droplets on sore muscles and the fact that you can change water temp at will, is a deffinate plus point.
Given a choise, i would rather shower than bath.
September 18, 2012
It depends on the time I have sometimes a relaxed bath other times a quick shower, both of them for one purpose to clean before bedtime. I’ve seen beautiful showers with a build in bench which is so useful for relaxing as well whilst you shower. How fortunate are we to have a bathroom as there are so many people who do not have this facility so whether bath or shower I say thank you for the blessing of a bathroom.
September 18, 2012

How fortunate are we to have a bathroom as there are so many people who do not have this facility so whether bath or shower I say thank you for the blessing of a bathroom. A shower is actually a bath under a spray of water!
September 18, 2012
During the course of the week a shower is a must,I prefer it over the tub not only because I’m lazy to clean the tub afterwards but because having a steam around me calms my nerves, the tension in my shoulders seem more at ease and its so refreshing.I feel no need to steam my face to open the pores when I’ve been in a shower. So shower for me,killing more birds with one stone!
September 18, 2012
After a long day’s work, I prefer relaxing in a hot, full bath filled with calming Radox bubblebath. The invigorating fragrance calms my body and leaves the atmosphere more serene. When my head hits the pillow, I’m at peace and have an undisturbed night’s sleep.
September 18, 2012
Baths are very relaxing after a busy day at work but I shower to save water and electricity. We are so lucky to have a shower, warm water, clean towels and soap. At our pre-school there are kids who grow up without running water or electricity.
September 18, 2012
Well, after a long day one might be inclined greatly towards a nice long relaxing bath, maybe even with some nice bubbles or special salts. Nowadays, I’d have to say a shower really is the better bet. Not only are you able to save water and money on electricity bills, but it is also much cleaner. And a hot shower has been known to aid in the release of growth hormones and being on the short side I’d have to say, for me, this is a definate plus 🙂
September 18, 2012
Please excuse the typo. *Definite plus.
September 18, 2012
I prefer to bath, but because of the “high cost of living” these days I have resoted to shower!!
September 18, 2012
If I am going out again, I shower to get refreshed and wake up. If not, I love taking a long hot quiet bath with a good book, and then hop straight into bed.
September 19, 2012
I love taking a long, warm, bubble bath, but seldom have the time!
September 19, 2012
Nothing beats a hard work day, than getting home, have a quick shower to refresh you before starting the evening chores.
September 19, 2012
Showering is so refreshing early morning to start your day or after a long hard day at the office to wash away the stress
September 20, 2012
There is nothing like that tingling feeling jumping into bed after a refreshing shower – it’s like singing in the rain, just warmer and guilt free!
September 20, 2012
I just love jumping into the bath, filled with warm relaxing bubbles! It is just to soothing after a day at the office!
September 20, 2012
There’s nothing like a great shower to clean off the stress of the day and relax into your home for the evening.
September 20, 2012
I shower…to feel fresh again!
September 21, 2012
Shower – it has such a light ‘footprint’ that it does not only leave my body clean, but my conscience too!

September 21, 2012

September 22, 2012
Bath – I don’t have a shower… 🙁
September 22, 2012
I dont really like to shower/bath after a long day, i prefer to shower in the morning so i start the day fresh.
September 22, 2012
shower, so refreshing
September 23, 2012
I shower, as i dont have a bath. So i dont really have a choice in the matter.
September 23, 2012
I love my shower. Its keeps me fresh and get rid of the germs
September 23, 2012
I definitely have to shower, have no bath anyway. But even if I did, the choice would be an easy one, SHOWER! A tub soak would be ok occasionally but Showers are cheaper since one is required to run the water for short periods only, fifteen minutes max(if you’re pushing it) I’m a plumber so to prevent water wastage is a required knowledge being a plumber also means I redo everone else’s bathrooms never my own lol (I love the Grohe range btw). Added to which we are three grown-ups(myself, wife and 19yr old son) then three tots(4,3 & 2) time is of the essence. And so is water and electricity! Would love this prize for sure!
September 23, 2012
I shower after a gym, but for a treat, long soak in a bath wins everytime for this Pisces – in fact my favourite treat – would be great to lie back and enjoy it in the luxury of GROHE fittings – will keep my fingers crossed and believe that Lady Luck will make a turn by me!!
September 24, 2012
I take a shower: it is quick and refreshing – it re-energizes me.
September 24, 2012
Shower, mainly in the mornings (the only time our municipality supplies us with water).
September 25, 2012
Shower. It’s quick but still relaxing at the same time!
September 25, 2012
Long hot bath… aaahhh. Wow what a prize!!!!
September 25, 2012
A shower, I find it therapeutic & refreshing how the water massages the body!!!
September 25, 2012
Nothing beats a hot, deep bath on a cold wintery night. I can’t go to bed without a bath. Can’t sleep without a bath. love my bath!
September 25, 2012
Shower, use less water, convenient and less time consuming.
September 25, 2012
Oooooooh goody!!!!!
I definitely take a bath after work, a looooooong, luxurious, steamy bath… Relaxing in the bath helps all the stress an aces and pain drift away!!! Aaaaah… 😉 😉 😉
September 26, 2012

September 30, 2012
Yes I shower as I want to smell like a flower 🙂
September 30, 2012
Shower – quicker and easier
September 30, 2012
Definitely shower before going to bed. I like to wash away the cares of the day. I can go to sleep fresh, in a clean bed, have fresh dreams and wake up clean.
October 1, 2012
a nice relaxing bath!!
October 1, 2012
natuurlik shower ek elk aand na werk, want as ek iets oorkom, dan is ek darm skoon vir die begrafnis ondernemer, wat my begrafnis sal doen.
October 1, 2012
After a long day I prefer a shower so there is more time for cooking, sofa and relaxation!
October 1, 2012
I shower, reason being I have a 6 year old and a 16 month old who I need to see to and laying in a bath is way too time consuming. Further to that, I am extremely anaemic and my blood pressure drops as soon as I get into a bath, so I prefer standing as opposed to laying down.
October 1, 2012
I love to take a hot bath and read my magazines. Who can read in a shower?

I bath. Lovely and relaxing. But prefer to shower in the mornings – quick, easy and invigorating 🙂
October 1, 2012
I love to bath mostly but shower when I have lots on. Bathing is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day.
October 1, 2012
I love to bath, so I can turn the taps on with my toes.
October 1, 2012
I love to bath, so I can turn the taps on with my toes.
October 1, 2012
Its my best to shower especially in summer but do enjoy a bath in the winter.
October 1, 2012
I love to soak in the bath,it allows me to relax my body and clear my mind after a busy day.The best and cheapest therapy available.
October 1, 2012
I love the massage from the shower head beating away the tension of the day.
October 1, 2012
I have a long hot relaxing bath – to soothe the stresses of the day away
October 1, 2012
Id have to say I would choose Bathing in Winter and showering in Summer, but both need good fixtures. A bubble bath is always better when the tap dispenses water in a way that makes more bubbles and a shower rose has to create good coverage.
October 1, 2012
I shower. For that fresh and “new” feeling.
October 2, 2012
I prefer to soak in a bath. In the bath I can relax and just let my mind, body and soul relax. The ambiance of the bathroom also plays a major roll in this relaxation process. Your bathroom can be the ideal place to let yourself go to places beyond your wildest dreams. Wash away all cares. Thank you for the opportunity to enter.
October 2, 2012
After a long stressful day at the office, definitely a long relaxing bath, because you can sip a glass of wine in a bubble bath….
After a good, hard run on the beach, a nice massaging shower……
October 2, 2012
Depending on what kind of day I had, a stressfull day, deserves a long soak in the bath with a glass of my favourite wine. After a long, hot day, a cool shower is the best medicine to coll down and relax. I love both!
October 2, 2012
Nothing is as relaxing as a long, warm bath after a frenetic office day.
October 2, 2012
Taking a bath will assist me in relieving stress after a long day at work.
October 2, 2012
Hi Ed,
I have just recently renovated our second bathroom and we chose Grohe products. The problem I have is that the rest of the house has nasty products and would love to win the Grohe voucher so that I can get more of their product in the rest of the house.
How do I enter?
October 2, 2012
Hi Greg, thanks for your comment. You can enter by telling whether you bath or shower after a long day at the office? Why? Good luck!
October 2, 2012
I like to shower in the morning – it’s a pick-me-up and refreshes me. It’s the only way I can greet my day and be wide awake. I prefer a bath in the evening so I can unwind after a long day at the office.
October 2, 2012
I love to take long showers, my shower is a place where I unwind and my mind wonders of the most amazing things in life. Taking a shower makes me feel refreshened and relaxed after a long day. Just to stand under the shower and let the steamy hot water hit against you is like a stress reliever. 🙂
October 2, 2012
After a long day, nothing can be more refreshing, relaxing and re-energizing as a shower, saving you time and water. The droplets of water hitting onto your skin, especially your back is revitalizing the mind and body, washing away the stresses of the day, leaving you as fresh as a daisy. Nothing better than leaving your shower with only just your footprints behind.
October 2, 2012
I shower. The calming and relaxing effect that the sound of water have from head to toes is just what I need to unwind and normalise.
October 2, 2012
Shower. It gives me the feeling that i have just washed all the stress of the day off. And now I’m new again.
October 2, 2012
Shower – You can sing in the shower!
Have you ever heard anyone singing in the bath? The angles are all wrong.
October 2, 2012
Definitely a bath, I’m a girly girl, and it’s so romantic too!!!
October 2, 2012
A nice shower is the real deal.
October 3, 2012
I am a housewife, but housewives always needs a long shower after her day. What is nicer than a long refreshing shower?
October 3, 2012
Bathing allows your body and soul to rejuvenate. Its a sacred platform that allows the soul to merge with mother nature merely by cleansing it with water.
October 3, 2012
In summer a cool shower to get rid of the grime and stickyness of a long hot day, in winter a long, warm soak to relax and warm my toes 😉
October 3, 2012
Everything is expensive, water, elecricity etc. I used to love a bubbly bath for quite sometime, but I have taken a sift to “make use of as little time and water” at a time while in the bathroom. So I have resorted to the SHOWER!!!
October 4, 2012
I love to bath after a hard days work at the office, because it refreshes your mind and body. Relaxing in the bath tub for about an hour surrounded by scented candles and the smell of lavender and camomile. After I had a bath I feel Good and Clean and Fresh tra la laa..
October 5, 2012
Nothing as relaxing and reviving as a long soak in a hot tub!
October 5, 2012
Yes I do. Because I need to freshen up and relax my body, and water has proven to be the best medicine for that.
October 5, 2012
A hot shower after a days hard work is refreshing, the water therapy makes for a peaceful nights sleep.
October 7, 2012
I tend to shower after a long warm day, because it is efficient and therapeutic.
October 7, 2012
Shower every evening as it just washes away the stress and trauma of the day and just refreshes you before going to bed in a positive frame of mind-you have washed your hassles away, for now anyway.
October 8, 2012
Shower in summer (to cool off and feel the massage of the water pulsating on your shoulder muscles) and bath in winter (to get warm and cosy and to wind down from a hard day at work)
October 8, 2012
I bath when i come from the office so that i can refresh my body after a long day’s work.
October 8, 2012
During the week when i need to de-stress after a long day at the office i take a long, soothing bath but when it’s the weekend a shower is a quick way to freshen up and get going as it’s ‘the weekend baby’
October 8, 2012
Taking a shower is a perfect way to let the muscles relax.
“After a long day at work, your body and mind, both need an easy getaway from fatigue. Taking a shower at night will help you get back your high spirits and endurance.
Taking a warm shower will cleanse a person’s skin and open the pores, while cleansing the skin from the inside, too. It will flush out toxins from the skin, making the person feel fresh and clean.Taking a shower will allow you to unwind, physically and mentally. You wouldn’t want to sleep with all that dirt and sweat on your bed at night, That is why I always take a shower at Night.
October 9, 2012
I like to relax in a bath after a long day in warm water with bubble bath.
October 9, 2012
I take a bath because how shower is not working, we need the money first to fix it and that is just so hectic when you have to pay a bond.
October 9, 2012
To me it’s a bit of a win-win situation. In summer I prefer a shower as it helps cool me down and relax after a long day at the office. In winter a long hot bath is the best as it helps me relax and warm me up at the same time. Bath time is also fun time with my girls.
October 9, 2012
I bath, the water has to be as hot as possible, it eases all those aches and pains away…
I must have bubbles too, feels very relaxing.
;O)
October 9, 2012
There is nothing better than a bath with my kids on the weekend. All 4 of them, with me squished in one side. Loads of laughs and giggles. I shower to wash my hair and bath in the evenings. It goes a long way.
October 10, 2012
After a long day i just love to jump in the shower and relax the warm water is always so soothing and calming! When it is cold there is nothing better than getting into the shower and warming up!
October 11, 2012
After a long day I prefer to have a hot bath, because it gives me time to myself.
October 11, 2012
I love a warm bubble bath after a long day with my soft relaxing music playing from the bedroom.
October 11, 2012
Definately a shower – I am all for instant gratification! Love the hot clean water and the steam swirling around in a soft, grey mist. LOVELY.

I shower,as it is quicker and I like to wash my hair at the same time.
October 13, 2012
I take a shower in the morning so that I am fresh for the day. On the weekend I have a long soaking bath as I have more time to enjoy it.
October 14, 2012
After a long hard day i have to have a bath because i do not have a shower….. I would love to have a shower with one of those big water efficient shower heads!
October 15, 2012
nothing better than a hot bubble bath at the end of a long day!!!! 🙂
October 15, 2012
I take a shower because my bath is extremely uncomfortable! 🙂
October 15, 2012
I bath but would much rather prefer to shower but I unfortunately do not have one in my bathroom at the moment.
Regards,
Pamela
October 15, 2012
Just moved into a new flat … and loving the huge shower !!!!! Its like summer rain on call 🙂
October 15, 2012
I like taking a bath after work, I have two young girls & we each take a shower in the morning. After doing home works & dinner we go to the bathoroom & take the bath together not only do we bond it is the only time we can share a lot of things that you would normally not discuss with your teenagers over dinner table. It brings us closer…
October 15, 2012
I definitely prefer a long bath. I am the whole day on my feet and want total relaxation when I wash. Bathing just do that for me because I can put my feet up for a while whilst enjoying the aromas of a foam bath.
October 15, 2012
My bathing ritual after work starts with the therapeutic sound of running water as it falls into the bath, paired with the sound of relaxing music and the tinkle of ice in the single malt scotch against the crystal glass as I lift it from the side table next to the bath and gently sip it…… I could lay in the bath for hours draining the cooled water by pulling the plug with my toes and refilling the bath every so often with fresh hot water…. admiring the bathroom as a place of refuge and beauty, and so much nicer when the taps are the one touch user friendly type.. ~:)
October 15, 2012
Shower lover… don’t like washing and rinsing with the same water 🙂
October 15, 2012
I bath. There is no better way to unwind.
October 15, 2012
I love my bath – the reason I don’t like showering is because I’m as blind as a bat without my glasses and in a shower I can’t see if my feet are clean!
October 15, 2012
Nothings beats a long soak in a bath. But due to time constraint a quick refreshing shower will have to do!
October 15, 2012
After a long day, washing all your worries away in a hot, steamy shower. Too refreshing!
October 15, 2012
I shower in the evening and the morning in summer in KZN due to the humidity. Thank you for a lovely mag.
October 15, 2012
I shower Monday to Saturday quick & easy, but on a sunday it is bubble bath time.Time to Chillax. But maybe if my fixtures were as stunning as GROHE I would hang around in the bathroom a little bit longer.
October 15, 2012
Definitely a shower. I feel cleaner because everything just runs off of you 🙂
October 15, 2012
I love a shower after work. Turned on full blast, it gives your whole body a massage. Nothing like it to feel revitalised!
October 15, 2012
after a loooooooooong day at work I light the candles run a warm bath with lots of smellies and lie there and relax! once Im done with that I can face anything!
October 15, 2012
Bath – But only because I don’t have a shower 🙁
October 15, 2012
I love a relaxing bath with essential oils after a long day, because it gives me some reflective me-time and allows me to dissociate from the day’s stresses; while I find a shower in the morning is an energising start to the day ahead.
October 15, 2012
I simply don’t have a bath and would love one from time to time so I have to take a shower but must agree that it saves me quite a bit of water.
October 15, 2012
I prefer to shower as much as possible as it saves water and is just more invigorating – I save the bath for when I’m really exhausted or stiff and need a soak. I love my outdoor shower where I can see the sky and hear the birds but in winter I’m forced indoors by the cold. LOVE SA Homeowner – and of course that’s the reading material by the bed or in the lounge AFTER that shower! :-))
October 15, 2012
Shower off course… It is cheaper and saves me time. There is so much to do at home after work and taking a shower keeps me refreshed to carry on with my chores.
October 15, 2012
Always a bath to relax
October 15, 2012
I love a bath after a long day at work. Unwinding under the slippery suds in a warm bath eases away all the days tension and my muscles feel rejuvenated, my body feels pampered and my mind feels relaxed. It also gives me time to lay back and dream about all the sensational appliances from Grohe that I will be furnshing my home with (I am in the process of building my dream home!) – and with their water saving technology, stunning innovations and designs, I know that I will have chosen the best!
October 15, 2012
After a long day I like to take a long bath and put my feet up and listen to music.
October 15, 2012
To wash all the stress away!
October 15, 2012
Shower…to economically and efficiently wash all the stress away.
October 15, 2012
I bath because it makes me relax more when i am soaked in a warm bath.
October 15, 2012
A soak in winter and a cool shower in summer after turning the wheels of industry works for me
October 15, 2012
In winter a lovely bath is perfect, but in the heat of summer a cold shower is ideal.
October 16, 2012
After a long day at the office and then comming home to your second job of cooking and cleaning, I have a quick shower, because then its supper, homework etc. I wish I had a bath so I can just relax with some bubbles & essential oils after a very long day, which will be me-time.
October 16, 2012
I shower its manly to shower however I bang my head on the shower head so I spend a lot of time crouching my shower is like boot camp training I do however love a good bubble bath with my beautiful wife its small but cosy
October 16, 2012
After a long day, a long bath does the trick! It’s great for the mind to just lie down in a warm bath and relax and unwind.
October 16, 2012
Water is a scare resource in SA, therefore I prefer to shower as it saves water as compared to a bath tub.
October 16, 2012
i always shower,it saves time and water, everybody showers at my house and we enjoy it
October 17, 2012
Bath! Nothing beats lying in a deep, hot bath, reading a good book. All your troubles simply float away.
October 17, 2012
Your mag is fab!!!!!
I love a hot steaming shower – feels like a massage!!!!!!!!!
October 17, 2012
A refreshing shower to wash away the problems of the day.
October 18, 2012
I love an invigorating shower. The tepid water that hits your body in the rythym of a massage unwinds all the muscle tension, leaving me refreshed and ready for a new challenge.
With SA Homeowner exposing us avid readers to the new innovations in home technology, one is sure to buy the best. Especially with the new EcoJoy system I’ll be enjoying my showers much more since the water saving technology will mean more money in my pocket!
October 19, 2012
Shower is the best option afer a long days work but still a bath now and then just lying there amazing
October 19, 2012
Shower, you save water. If you shower with your better half, even more water gets saved.
October 20, 2012
Shower coz it’s quick. With 3 kids, there’s no time for a bath! I would love to pamper myself with a long bath once in a while!
October 20, 2012
A long , relaxing bath is a must!
October 20, 2012
I love to shower. I am a shower kind of guy, and I love the feeling of a hot/warm shower. It just feels so good to shower, and to wash and to get nice and clean from a nice hot/warm shower. Even when I shower, I respect the shower/water law and only shower for a few minutes, to save water for somebody else to use. My motto is “Love Water, Respect Water So Somebody Else Can Have Some”.
No better feeling than a shower feeling. Dave
October 21, 2012
Always have a shower……..but if I win this……would defnitly opt 4 a bath……who wouldn’t if u have beautiful bathroom fittings!!!!
October 21, 2012
I LOVE A GOOD HOT BATH. IT HELPS THE ARTHRITUS
IN MY BACK AND HIP, AS WELL AS BEING PLEASUREFUL.
October 22, 2012
After a long day whats better than taking a relaxing bath. Lighting up some candles, getting the bubbles going.
Be romantic and enjoy your bathroom especially with GROHEs unrivalled quality, superior design and impressive technology… I would spend all my time in my bathroom then.
October 22, 2012
A bath is more relaxing at the end of a long day at work but a shower is preferred in the morning to wake me up.
October 22, 2012
shower
October 22, 2012
Shower….the sound of the water falling reminds me of a rainshower cleaning away all the dirt
October 22, 2012
I love my bubblebath let me feel relaxed, with candle’s and having quality time with God.
October 22, 2012
I get into the bath and soak myself,it is so relaxing.
October 22, 2012
I shower… when I’m in a rush; I showee-do-bee-do when I have a little more time!! Why? Well, a shower should be practical AND fun. Just ask my wife.
October 22, 2012
A shower with some fabulous body products hits the spot for me. Some time ago we had water restrictions and could ill afford to waste water therefore showering is the option; however as some of us ladies shave doing so in a shower would be a total waste of water so it’s the basin for me 🙂 woman have got to do what they have to.
October 23, 2012
A refreshing hot bath! relieves the stress of the day and calms my mind to prepare for supper and attend to kids and their homework!
October 23, 2012
A BATH, it surely is the MOST relaxing feeling after a long and hard day…
October 23, 2012
After a long day at the office, a warm bubble bath is a quick way to forget that it’s not the weekend just yet 🙂
October 23, 2012
Once in a while when me-time is non-negotiable, I prefer a long lazy soak in the bath after a hard day’s work. A good book and a glass of wine would be optional!
October 24, 2012
Definitely a hot steaming shower thundering on my back to release tension in my shoulders. Makes me feel like a new person and ready for time with my family!
October 24, 2012
hot long bath with good music
October 24, 2012
a hot long bath, wine, music and chocolate
October 24, 2012
I bath. With lots of bubbles, candles and my kitten nearby. I set my laptop on a little chair and lie back to watch an episode of my favourite series 🙂
October 25, 2012
That sounds leka Amy…:(
October 25, 2012
I enjoy taking a shower after a long day.Especially during hot weather. Then I’d stand a few extra minutes under the water just too cool down.I always feel fresher after I’ve showered.
October 25, 2012
i wish if i could one day relax in a bath so beautiful like those i saw in grohe designed. oh! it is important to relaxe while taking a bath not like me rush into it because i dont have a beautiful bath room its just old and very small, there is no time for relaxation.
October 26, 2012
Nothing better than a shower when you get home from work, you wash a way all stress and revitalize body and soul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 26, 2012
I shower after a long day at work. Showering is just a lot more quicker, and I love washing my hair as opposed to bathing where it’s such a mission!
Showering also saves water, time and electricity, although a bath every now and then is on the cards!
October 26, 2012
I have a loooong hot shower, wash all the work off of me, start clean and fresh for whatever is in store for the evening 🙂
October 26, 2012
I prefer the shower. Environmentally it is the better option and the rush of water on the face and body is an instant refresher and booster, both mentally and physically.
October 26, 2012
i could not trade my bath after a long hard day for anything. its like a retreat to a sanctuary where all my “aches and knots” will be soothed! therefore i love soaking in a bath and totally relaxing and shutting off my mind…….
for me its hydro-therapy at its best!!!!!
October 26, 2012
I shower to feel refresh.
But sometime nice bath to relax.
October 26, 2012
I prefer to bath after a long day at the office. it is relaxing, soothing and so relaxing. I like eating chocolate and nice cup of coffee.
October 27, 2012
I take a long bath because I want to enjoy GROHE products as much as I can!;)
October 27, 2012
I bath. The best way for me to relax after a long day is to submerse myself in water and just soak up the goodness of feeling weightless. Shower in the morning to invigorate oneself but definately a bath at the end of a long day.
October 27, 2012
1 bath, a cap of fenjal and 2 lit candles, 1 large glass of good wine on the side – recipe for a succesful nights sleep – no better way to relax ones body and mind than a pampering bathroom filled with luxuries for the body.Oh and let me not forget the 2 purring fat cats wallowing on the large soft bathmat enjoying the heat of the bathroom, awaiting my ascension from the bath that when the plug is pulled and the water has run out that they may hop in and further savour the heat from the still warm bath.Oh what an almost holy experience, the sweet indulgence of a bath.
October 28, 2012
I take a shower in the evenings after work. I feel, to understand the reason why I appreciate a good shower in the evenings, I feel a description of a typical day in my life is necessary.
I’m a heavy sleeper, so the mornings are always a rush. After snoozing my alarm clock for at least five times every morning. I jump in the shower for a quick rinse. I get dressed, it’s either one of three black pants and one of three white shirts. I’m minimalist like that. I grab my coffee and at ten past if I’m not out of the house, I’m late for work. With my coffee in my car’s cup-holder I’m off to face the morning glare of the sun in my eyes all the way to work.
At 7.30 I arrive at work. I’m a junior accountant. We are ten staff in the office and every morning a bible extract and a prayer is recited. I quickly mentally plan my day. Then I start replying to e-mails and start nagging clients to bring in their documents so I can get their work done. Sometimes, I feel I’m irritating to them, but then again I feel let them rather complain to people that I call them too much, instead of them complaining that they call me too much.
I start doing my daily work. I usually don’t get very far with that before clients phone for this or that or our receptionist calls an says somebody’s here to see me. I’ve informally become the guy in the office who makes unhappy clients happy again. I try to go the extra mile with them, let them leave satisfied that they getting their money’s worth. The guy’s say I sleep with the clients, because you know I tend to give clients too much attention at times.
Lunch comes around and I usually have to run errands, like go to the bank, or pharmacy, or pay accounts.
The afternoon passes much the same way as the mornings, no chance to rest. Then there’s also an initiative at the office I’m quite passionate about. We now scan in documents and save it on the server instead of filing a hard copy of documents in a physical file. We saving a lot of paper since this started. Save the world one page at a time. The scanning in and saving to correct client’s folders also takes up a lot of time. Before I know it, it’s home-time.
I leave the office, and for a while still, my mind can’t stop thinking of work that still has to be done. I go to my dad’s work to pick him up on the way home. They close at 5.30, so I just hang around there waiting for him to get done. Then it’s back home, the glare of the sun again full throttle in my eyes.
We get home at six and then finally shower-time. I adjust the water just right and get in. Showering, for me is just easier. People say it uses less water too then bathing. I’d be lying if I said that I shower for that reason. I’m hot, clammy, and my body is aching. I feel it more in my shoulders, so the running water on my back is a welcome pleasure.
For a while, I just stand there savoring the feeling. It is really heavenly. My evening shower is the time I cease to be a son, brother, uncle, friend, colleague. That is my time. I don’t want to be disturbed with a knock on the door by anybody saying make quick I want my toothbrush, or make quick your phones ringing, or your friend is here, or did you see my car keys. It’s my time, to unwind, clear my head, forget the problems of the world for just a little bit.
It’s the time I can use body wash gel and not bar soap, when I can let the shampoo and conditioner actually stay in my hair for a while before I rinse it off. I use a strawberry scented shampoo, and that feeling with my eyes closed, water pounding my back, and that fusion of my shampoo and cream-soda smelling body wash gel engulfing my senses is a feeling I believe everyone should experience at least once in their life-time.
After 15 to 20 minutes I turn off the water, wrap a towel around myself, and open the bathroom door. And then, it’s back to reality…
October 30, 2012
In winter I love to soak in a really hot bath but in summer I prefer to shower although if I had one of Grohe’s stunning showerheads I would be tempted to spend more time in the shower!
October 30, 2012
As much as I would love to lay in the bath and relax after a long day, time just doesn’t allow it (I have 2 kiddo’s – oldest is 2).. so shower it is for me.
October 30, 2012
I am most definitaly a bath tub baby…
This is where I relax after a tuff day at the office, where I allow my mind to flow and be creative – From work-stuff, dinner to: I plan our next annual adventurious holiday here, in the tub. (Great ideas are born here; whilst I soak up the tranquility of my bath tub…)Even the phone can ring whilst I’m relaxing, I mean this IS why they invented answering machines is it not? 😀
And on my return from my adventure, the first place I stop is my little oasis, my paradise, my bathroom… and I emerge a ‘new’ and refreshed being!
October 31, 2012
I take a long bath after a long day. I run a hot tub, with bubbles, and I can lay back and relax! Heavenly!
November 15, 2012
Ek bad ……… WANT dit is deel van my “me-time”, waar ek net lê en dink na ‘n dag se werk, met somtyds ‘n glas wyn op die bad se rant en ‘n lekker hygroman!
December 3, 2012
I Love showering and am most definitely a shower babe. I feel I am reducing my carbon footprint by showering and at the same time I am not laying in my own dirt in the bath. The feeling of the water running over my body, is the most refreshing sensation.
December 3, 2012
I bath, it helps me to relax and takes all the stress of the day off my body, nothing better than a hot relaxing bath to soothe the soul.
December 4, 2012
hot bath after a long day is revitalising it ease the body and make me to ralax, and think about all the good memories that leave me with a satisfied feeling that transent way into bed time, it make bath time a bliss so to speak. it is a world of relaxation a space to unwind.
December 18, 2012
definitely shower. followed by a relaxing cup of tea
December 25, 2012
I prefer to shower because I save a lot of water and it is faster. I will encourage everybody to shower than bath.
January 7, 2013
To de-stress bath during the evenings
To perk me up SHOWER definitely does it for us !
January 21, 2013
We only shower in our house as we are very conscious of saving water and a quick shower uses far less water than a bath. Plus we have installed solar geysers and filters on our borehole water and so standing under what in effect is a free shower is very satisfying.
January 24, 2013
shower – to wash away the day
February 4, 2013
AFTER A DAY AT THE OFFICE AND STRAIGHT FROM THERE TO THE PILLATES CLASS, IS A SHOWER VERY WELCOME, ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOT SUMMERS AS WE EXPIERENCE AT THE MOMENT.
THERE IS NOTHING MORE REVIVING TO GET UNDER A LOVELY SHOWER AND WASHES ALL THE SWEAT AWAY.NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO JUST THAT.

Nothing wakes you up on a summer morning like a refreshing shower. In the winter is warms you so that your start your day with a zing.
Working all day and going home to cook for a family at night, time is precious,so a shower is quicker and more satisfying. In winter I shower and then jump into a cosy bed – can’t beat it and it must be better that sitting in your own dirty water!!

Am absolutely obsessed by S A Home Owner Magazine – that is why I am a loyal subscriber. By the way in answer to the question bath or shower. I used to bathe in the past, but with the rising costs in electricity and water- I enjoy a shower more! – I feel refreshed and renewed after my daily ablutions!

I take a warm bath as it releases tension when I soak my body in a tub. I come out refreshed and and then I have a good night rest in that way.
August 6, 2013
Taking a long shower and having the door and windows closed so the whole bathroom steams up from the hot water and feels like you are in a steam room.
August 9, 2013
I take a shower for the following reasons:
1) It helps me tap into my inner self
2) I come out of the shower feeling bubbly
3) It drowns all my sorrows
4) Stops me from breaking out in floods of tears after a long day
5) It gets me ready for a steamy session with my boyfriend
6) It helps me to soak in all the events of the day
and finally 7) I don’t like to use my shower because of my height. I’m a good
Head and Shoulders taller.
