All things homely

Situated in one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most pristine estates, this home offers its residents not only an address of note, but a lifestyle that is enriched by nature and fine living. Having three children, the couple knew right from the start that they wanted to create a family home.

With the assistance of the amazing team of professionals, the design, construction and decor of the home resulted in a dwelling that more than met the expectations of the owners.

In keeping with the architectural guidelines of the estate, the architecture of the house shows off a Balinese-style design which has been accentuated with complementary construction materials and exterior treatments. Large windows offer these residents a picturesque view of the surrounding landscape, where grazing animals are a common sight.

An important factor for the design was the logical flow of the spaces. Describing the layout of the home, the owners say that the entire downstairs area is an open-plan living area, and this caters for easy mobility, easy entertaining and of course a feeling of togetherness for this family. The more private areas, including the bedrooms and bathrooms, are located on the upper level.

All of the furnishings were chosen based on longevity, and the contemporary touches that enhance all of the areas were added through accessories. All of the bedrooms reflect the individual personalities that make up this family and each room has a little something different and special in it.

With so much attention placed on the treatment of the interiors, it is no wonder the lady of the house’s favourite room is the main bedroom. “I wanted the room designed and furnished in such a way that I would always feel like I am in a hotel suite when I am in the bedroom. The decorator created exactly what I wanted to feel and included items that reflected my love of all things bling,” says the owner.

By working closely with all of the industry players involved in bringing this home to life, these residents can rest assured that the days to follow while staying here will be nothing short of fabulous.
