The Cape Art Company has been working with artists, photographers and graphic designers since it started. Their mission is to create a range of products that complements the company’s art offering and that it can sell on its various platforms, whether online, from a catalogue or at its local craft markets.
Products offered range from tableware to carpets and scatter cushions and blankets. Different media can be used to print on for display of wall art, varying from wood and plexiglass to pure cotton canvases framed to specification. Cape Art’s in-house fabric printing offers various fabrics for printing home décor items and clothing.

One of The Cape Art Company’s artists, Olivia Botha, says: “I have to say this – whatever I design on my computer with my art, Cape Art always exceeds my expectations in terms of the products they deliver. Waiting for the products is a small price to pay for the quality and care they take to produce each one, and once the imports have stabilised and with their new equipment, we will have this sorted in no time next year.”
Botha is a local artist with a shop in Parys and Swellendam full of her exquisitely beautiful products and art. With her husband Karel, they run a family business called Art de Olivia, and are raising their two boys on a farm just outside Swellendam. They have partnered with Cape Art and are planning their first exports to Germany with some of Cape Art’s products early in 2022.
“There is something to say for the quality of our products if you manage to export it to the European Union. It is important to partner with the best suppliers, since we make all our products from the heart, and this is what we love to share with our clients,” says Botha.
