A few weeks back, SA Home Owner was invited to the exclusive launch of Big Blue’s Fatboy range, hosted at the Big Blue estate in Midrand. The event introduced the innovative Dutch brand, and showcased its latest collection.
“Fatboy can’t be pigeonholed. It’s much like Big Blue in that it is a mix-match of everything, but with a singular theme underpinning it all – colour and functionality, ” says James Robertson, co-owner of Big Blue, South Africa’s homegrown lifestyle and fashion retail store.
Popular for its bold monochrome inflatable furniture, Fatboy has a range of home decor products that extend to carpets, oversized lamps, dogs beds and the elegant RockCoco chandelier, which is one of the world’s first outdoor chandeliers.
At the launch, guests were treated to two exhibitions, unique metal sculptures by artist, Dambudzo Chiwandire and photographic glass panels by award-winning photographer, Brett Rubin. Guests were served refreshments and a finger buffet, which was specifically developed to captivate those who have a love for decadent food and experimental eating.
