No home or business place can function efficiently without cabinets. Whether you use them to file away important official documents, display the fine china or store things in your kitchen or bathroom, cabinets are an essential storage option that you must have. That said the design and aesthetic appeal of the cabinetry are also important considerations.
Cabinetry trends very closely follow architectural trends, and the cabinetry style is chosen and designed to fit with the overall look of the home. So the styles we see in cabinetry are as varied as the styles we in see in homes being built. It is more and more a trend of choosing what you love, your personal style, than of everyone following a trend.
Lily Botha from Country Style Interiors says that, in general, a very minimalist look, clutter-free and highly functional space is where the trend is heading.
“More people have opted to move away from the very traditional, farm style and cottage looks with a hand-painted finish. With the more modern looks, less is definitely more,” says Lily.
These days we are seeing a crisp, fresh, homely but simpler and less detailed look with an even-sprayed finish in neutral unfussy and timeless colour palettes. .
