Eco-friendly estate living has become increasingly popular in the Boland region of the Western Cape, and looking at this fresh, modern property, one can see why.

This was a new build that took a year to complete, and the owners are more than delighted with the result. Having relocated from Johannesburg, the couple had been living on the estate for four years before they decided to build their dream home.

Doing their bit for the environment was central to the owners’ vision when designing their home. “Having an eco-friendly system was very important to us,” says the owner – from rainwater harvesting to as many as 30 solar panels and a grey-water system, with a small water-wise garden to break up the expanse of ground and paving outside.
