The Egyptian Cotton Studio

We recently spent some time at 03 Desmond, Kramerville’s new design and decor hub. Here are all the fantastic retail outlets you’ll find there…

ORA The Outdoor Boutique – www.oraoutdoor.com

ORA the outdoor boutique specialises in supplying high-quality, luxury, International outdoor furniture brands to the South African public. If it’s made for outdoors, they have it; shading solutions, lighting, music, furniture…

03 cubed – www.03cubed.com

03cubed is a collaboration showroom, with three of Cape Town’s most powerful design brands. The Modern Home Company offers an extensive range of indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting and accessories from various international brands; Beauty Fires is leading the market with its incredible range of bio-ethanol fireplaces and Fibre Designs prides itself on being able to design and construct any kind of wool rug that one can imagine.

Mud Studio – www.mudstudio.co.za

Mud studio specialises in handmade ceramics and chandeliers. All of Mud’s products are made locally and its ceramics sell in boutique stores around the world, from Merci in Paris and the Conran shop in Europe to Antropologie and Ralph Lauren in the US.

Oggie – www.oggie-sa.co.za

At the Oggie showroom, wood is used in every way imaginable to give visitors a feast of decor ideas and inspiration. The company has an array of oak finishes on offer to enhance the interiors of any home or architectural space.

The Fabric House – www.thefabrichouse.co.za

The Fabric House is an exciting, new concept store that offers quality furnishing base cloths, “hand-picked” short ends, remnants and end-of-roll soft furnishing fabrics at affordable prices.

Egg Design – www.eggdesigns.co.za

The Durban-based team saw something special in Joburg’s new decor hub and knew that an open space in the newly revamped 03 Desmond building was the perfect place for its eclectic mix of design pieces. As well as showcasing its more well-known items such as the desert rose locker, wire rockers and modular shelving units, the store boasts a new range of quirky items and a section dedicated to a fun, contemporary range of children’s furniture and accessories.

Tessa Sonik – www.tessasonik.com

Tessa Sonik Fabric is synonymous with directional, contemporary fabrics of the finest quality. The company is a forward-thinking company that takes the word cutting-edge to the next level by reinterpreting our perceptions of fabric. The company was the first to launch micro-suede into the interiors landscape, the first to introduce colour-coordinated collections and the first to marry high fashion with traditionally unimaginative and bland contrast fabric.

Tonic Studio – www.tonicdesign.co.za

Tonic Studio is your go-to destination for furniture, lighting and accessories for the home. Functioning as both a retail destination and an interactive showcase for its ranges, the showroom provides you with the opportunity to view interior concepts in real time and space.

Nap Living – www.napliving.co.za

Nap Living is home to understated luxury homeware items. Established in 2004, by mother and daughter duo Carina and Tamryn Marescia, the stores have popped up across the country and now have a covetable spot at 03 Desmond.

Fabcote Wallcoverings – www.fabcote.co.za

This is definitely not your grandmother’s wallpaper! Fabcote takes wallpaper to the next level with an exciting range of offerings such as hemp, jute and Japanese paper weaves, gold leaf, crystal and glass bead.

Wunders – www.wunders.co.za

The much-loved family-owned business produces top-quality upholstered furniture. We adore its exquisite William Yeoward stools, ottomans and chairs.

Tin Table – www.tintable.net

A firm favourite at Decorex Joburg, Tin Table has grown in leaps and bounds since setting up shop at 44 Stanley. Its mostly-imported range consists of, you guessed it, everything metal related as well as unique speciality items such as “rubik” cube cabinets and antique beetle nut cutters.

The Egyptian Cotton Studio – www.casabianca.co.za

The Egyptian Cotton Studio imports 100% Egyptian cotton products into South Africa. The ultra-luxurious range is produced by Egyptian growers and millers, and is affordable too!
