From fashion to interior decor, nature is playing a vital role in the way we dress and decorate our homes. In the coming year, wood is set to become a very popular material.  It comes as no surprise that wood is a favoured material for interior decorators and home owners alike.

Nothing beats the look and feel of natural wood, and in 2013 we can look forward to natural reclaimed timber furniture. Contemporary furniture created from reclaimed wood is very elegant and sophisticated, and adds character to any space. Be on the look out for furniture with a lighter grain as well as wood that has imperfections with irregular beauty. There is also a major trend towards solid wood furniture – this is because consumers are getting fed up with cheap board furniture and would rather wait and pay more for something that will last a long time.

With the emphasis on ecological sustainability, wood is  still a favoured material as it is a renewable resource that adds a natural and earthy aspect to interior spaces. Whether new or recycled, wooden accents always give character to any room.
