Tom Dixon’s Bronte

Written by Jess Binns

Situated on the infamous Strand, overlooking Trafalgar Square in London, is an exciting new restaurant called Bronte.

Iconic lighting designer Tom Dixon oversaw the design, alongside creative consultants Design Research Studio. Taking inspiration from the Strand’s history, the restaurant is a mix of Victoriana keepsakes, regal architectural features and, of course, signature lighting by Tom Dixon.

The main backdrop is fairly neutral, consisting of rich, dark-wood floors and off-white walls. On the opposite end of the scale, the finishes are anything but. Gold balustrades sit next to rich, green leather banquets; a feature pink concrete cocktail bar is adorned by clusters of Dixon’s “fade” pendants, while the main ceiling areas are awash with his “plane” lights, set out in a grid formation to full effect.

Upholstered chairs in a dusty-pink make for comfortable, yet formal dining, while the slatted tub chairs serve the more relaxed common areas.

Boasting a full and varied menu, Bronte appears to be a great place for business and leisure, not only from its sought-after position, but as a visual spectacle. Aside from this, it’s also the place to go if you’re a fan of Tom Dixon’s creations.

Best wishes,

Jess from Hector and Bailey
