To enjoy family holidays across imaginary boundary walls has to be the ultimate dream.

When they stumbled upon this northcoast KZN property on the open market, the owners had already imagined their perfect holiday home in Zinkwasi. They had by then, become well accustomed to this quality of life, where panoramic coastal views and unpolluted air are the order of the day.

What clinched the deal they say was the perfect position of the large plot, right next door to members of their family. They undertook what became a massive renovation of the old 300m² house, now a beautifully re-constructed holiday home, measuring 1 100m² across three levels. When on holiday from Mpumalanga, they say this convenient location offers short commuting distances, ranging from 30km to the nearest retail and entertainment outlets at Salt Rock, 40km to Ballito Bay, and 50km from King Shaka Airport.

The absence of a dividing fence between the two properties allows family members of all ages an opportunity to enjoy the earthy surroundings of generous proportions.

Blending in comfortably with the natural outdoors, are exterior spaces that were designed and finished in rich textures and earthy tones. Timber decking around the outdoor patio and swimming pool, lead onto a luxuriously sized garden that on occasion doubles up as a rugby green for family entertainment.

Also tying in with the outdoor theme and quality building materials is the selection of natural stone products by The Sandstone Story, installed around the exterior. The open-plan interior design facilitates the free flow of natural light, enhancing many indoor comforts, such as the bright and bold U&G Fabrics’ furniture upholstery and soft furnishings.
